Dr. Omar Awad is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. He is a partner at Minnesota Eye Consultants and serves as Medical Director of LasikPlus Minnesota. He has extensive experience in cataract and lens implant surgery, complex cornea care, advanced anterior segment procedures, and laser vision correction.
Dr. Awad has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine for 16 consecutive years. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, where he teaches refractive and cataract surgery, and serves as an attending surgeon at the Minneapolis VA Health System.
Dr. Awad is President of the Minnesota Eye Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing ophthalmic education and providing sight-restoring surgical care to underserved patients in the community.
Outside of his professional work, he enjoys endurance sports including marathons, ultramarathons, and triathlon, as well as golf and traveling with his wife.
